More Growth Is Coming to Norterra — And It Is Worth Paying Attention To
If you own a home in the North Valley or have been thinking about buying here, there is some news worth knowing about. Union Street at Norterra is bringing a new dining and retail destination to an already thriving area — and between what is confirmed, what is announced, and what is rumored, there is a lot to be excited about.
Here is everything we know right now.
Phase 1 — Opening This Summer
Phase 1 tenants are confirmed and some could begin opening as early as this summer. The lineup includes CAVA, First Watch, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Shake Shack, and Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. For anyone who has been driving to other parts of the Valley for these — they are coming to you.
Phase 2 — What's Been Announced
Phase 2 is planned for the east side of the development and the announced tenants so far include Paris Baguette, Hammer and Nails, Pinky Nails and Spa, and bb.q Chicken. There is also a national specialty grocer that has not yet been officially revealed — plus a handful of additional tenants still to be announced.
Which brings us to the rumor everyone has been talking about.
The Trader Joe's Rumor
Rumor has it Trader Joe's may be landing here. Nothing has been officially confirmed and we are not going to report it as fact — but the developer behind this project has worked with Trader Joe's before so it is definitely a possibility. We are watching this one closely and will share as soon as there is anything confirmed.
What This Means for North Valley Homeowners
Development like this is not just exciting from a lifestyle standpoint — it matters for the value and desirability of the surrounding area. When quality dining, retail, and national brands invest in a corridor it signals something. It tells you that the people making those decisions believe in the long term trajectory of this market.
Norterra is already one of the most established and desirable communities in North Phoenix. Union Street adds another layer to that. More amenities, more walkability, more reasons for buyers to want to be here. For homeowners in the area that is worth paying attention to.
The Bottom Line
The North Valley keeps getting better. If you are curious what growth like this means for your specific neighborhood or you have been thinking about making a move, we are always happy to have that conversation.
